Supermarkets and Grocery Stores in Tanjong Pagar
Tanjong Pagar is a dynamic mixed-use district in Singapore's central-south, straddling the boundary between the CBD and the historic shophouse belt of Chinatown's southern fringe. Once a working-class Hokkien and Teochew neighbourhood, it has transformed into one of Singapore's most vibrant dining, nightlife, and residential precincts, increasingly popular with young professionals.
Amenities & shopping Icon Village, 100AM, and Tanjong Pagar Plaza mall cater to daily retail and dining needs. The district is best known for its extraordinary density of restaurants, bars, and cafés along Tanjong Pagar Road, Duxton Road, Duxton Hill, and Neil Road — spanning Korean, Japanese, modern European, and local cuisines. Tanjong Pagar Plaza Market and Food Centre is a well-regarded hawker centre. Cold Storage at Icon Village serves grocery needs. The upcoming Tanjong Pagar Centre (Guoco Tower) has added Grade-A office space, luxury residences, and Wallich Street retail to the precinct.
Transport & accessibility Tanjong Pagar MRT on the East-West Line is the main station, with Outram Park MRT (East-West, North-East, and Thomson-East Coast Lines) providing interchange access nearby. Maxwell MRT on the Thomson-East Coast Line also serves the area. The AYE and MCE provide expressway access. The former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station — a conserved heritage landmark — sits at the district's edge.
Community & attractions Duxton Hill is the social heart of the district, lined with conserved shophouses converted into bars and restaurants that draw after-work crowds from the surrounding CBD. The district's conservation shophouse streetscape along Neil Road and Tanjong Pagar Road is among Singapore's best-preserved. Pinnacle@Duxton, a landmark public housing development with sky bridges and rooftop gardens, adds a distinctive residential identity to the precinct.
