People's Park Complex

Towering over the historic Chinatown district at 1 Park Road, People’s Park Complex remains one of Singapore’s most architecturally and culturally significant developments. Completed in 1973, the landmark mixed-use complex was considered revolutionary for its time and represented one of Southeast Asia’s earliest large-scale integrated shopping and residential developments. Its iconic stepped design remains instantly recognisable decades later.

Inside, the commercial floors have developed a strong identity around travel agencies, traditional businesses, remittance services, food establishments, and shops serving both local and overseas communities. The complex is particularly well known for its concentration of travel agencies and businesses linked to regional tourism.
