Marina Square
Built on the first wave of reclaimed land at Marina Centre and opened in December 1986, Marina Square at 6 Raffles Boulevard holds a special place in Singapore's retail history — it was the largest shopping mall in the country at the time of its opening, pioneering the concept of large-scale waterfront retail integrated with luxury hotels and convention facilities in what was then Singapore's boldest urban reclamation project. Developed by Singapore Land Group, the five-storey mall spanning approximately 700,000 sq ft has since undergone multiple rounds of renovation, most recently through an ongoing two-phase redevelopment programme that is reshaping its tenant mix and improving connectivity.
Today, Marina Square draws a diverse mix of tourists, hotel guests, CBD workers, and families with its combination of over 200 specialty stores across fashion, lifestyle, children's entertainment, and an expanded dining offering. The Dining Edition wing at the mall's southern end has become a dining destination in its own right, with international F&B concepts and a refreshed skylight atrium drawing evening crowds. Kiztopia and Pororo Park children's indoor playgrounds anchor the family entertainment offer, while PSB Academy's campus occupies former department store space. The development integrates directly with three luxury hotels — Mandarin Oriental, Pan Pacific Singapore, and Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay — ensuring a captive international visitor base year-round.
Esplanade MRT Station (CC3) on the Circle Line is the nearest rail stop, a short walk via the sheltered Esplanade Link. City Hall MRT (NS25/EW13) is also accessible by foot through the Marina Link underground pedestrian network. Multiple bus services along Raffles Boulevard and Marina Square serve the development directly.
